Mark Shang is a Senior Advisor at Banneker Partners, supporting the firm across fundraising, finance, accounting, compliance, and administration. He previously served as Banneker’s Chief Financial Officer.
Before joining Banneker, Mark led the West Coast Venture and Private Equity Group at Boston Private, then a leading provider of wealth management, private banking, and trust services. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of Serent Capital, a middle-market private equity firm. As a member of the founding team, he spent more than eight years overseeing finance and administration as the firm grew from 3 to 33 people and raised two funds.
Mark began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the audit practice, where he was a manager focused on financial services. He later became a Director in the Transaction Services practice, leading due diligence engagements for private equity firms and strategic buyers.
Mark is a graduate of the University of Virginia, a CFA Charterholder, and a CPA (inactive).
