Spirit of Ingenuity

Why the Name Banneker?

Benjamin Banneker was an African-American naturalist, mathematician, astronomer, watchmaker, and almanac author. Between 1792 and 1797, Banneker published yearly almanacs with his own astronomical calculations, opinion pieces, and medical and tidal information.

We chose the American innovator and largely self-educated intellectual as our namesake, reflecting our commitment to fostering the same spirit of ingenuity and creativity in the companies we invest in.
